Remarkable 8.3% efficiency and extended electron lifetime towards highly stable semi-transparent iodine-free DSSCs by mitigating the in-situ triiodide generation

Achieving highly stable and efficient dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) remains a major challenge for future industrial development. In the present work, series of ionic conductors, such as liquids (ILs), polysiloxane-based poly(ionic liquid)s (PILs), their blends are employed electrolytes in quasi-solid-state DSSCs. particular, we study effect PILs functionality interaction with ILs ethylene carbonate (EC) on photovoltaic performance DSSCs without iodine (I2). Omitting I2 from fabricated enhances both Voc Jsc due to reduced charge recombination extended effective electron lifetime. We confirm through Raman spectroscopy that I2-free DSSCs, in-situ generated tri-iodides (I3?) ions sufficient enough complete reaction mechanism. Additionally, exhibit enhanced transparency, encouraging our efforts towards BIPV suitable applications. When plasticized EC, conductivities functionalized PIL-based exceeds 10?3 S cm?1 at 30 °C, giving record PCE 8.3% 9.1% under standard (1 sun) modest (0.3 illumination, respectively. These devices also show excellent long-term stability, retaining about 84% initial efficiency after 26 months.

Transparent polycrystalline spinel ceramic was fabricated without any sintering aids by spark plasma sintering method of a mixture of Al2O3 and MgO powders for only 10min soak at 1250°C. Densification, microstructure and optical transparency of spinel were examined. The spinel exhibits an in-line transmission of 55% for a visible-wavelength of 470nm and high hardness value of 2040 HV.
